Liuna Station Wedding Photography on August 24th, 2019!

Ceremony Location | Liuna Station
Liuna Station in Hamilton, Ontario was the perfect venue for Sam and Brian’s August 24th wedding. LIUNA Station, former CN Railway James Street Station, on the east side of James Street North at Murray Street, was built between 1929 and 1931 by the Canadian National Railway to a design by architect John Schofield. It is now used as an events centre with catering facilities for weddings, dances, and other special events.
Sam and Brian are such an amazing and sweet couple and their entire party was a blast to work with! I knew when I photographed their engagement shoot at Sam Lawrence Park last year that we would capture some stunning wedding images. The couple is so relaxed with each other and in front of the camera! I am honoured I had the priviledge of photographing their engagement and wedding.
Tell us how you first met? Who what when where why? Give us the dirty details.
Brian and I (Sam) met on a blind date March of 2016. We went out to dinner the Annex, Toronto & then a night out dancing in Kensington Market. Let’s just say he swept me off my feet because we’ve been together ever since our first date.
Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning? How did you feel? Were you nervous, excited, freaked out?
We lost our dog. We had spent the entire day looking for her. It was an actual nightmare. We finally found her in the later evening. After the most exhausting day, I felt overwhelmed and tired and I crawled into bed. He crawled in after me and told me he loved me, and that everything was going to be okay. And then he pulled his hand out from underneath the pillows and asked me to marry him. One of my worst days quickly became one of my best.
Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.
He’s the one person I can always count on and always depend on no matter what. I’ve never had that before, and I feel so grateful for it now.
If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.
Brian Snores!!!!! So loud! It’s like a bear sleeping in the woods.
Besides getting married – What’s one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?
Dancing. It’s something we did on our first date, but it isn’t something we do often.
What’s your favourite trend for weddings right now?
I’ve seen this new trend of weed bars that’s popular in legalized states of the US.
What inspired your decor or theme?
The season. We’re doing our wedding late summer/early fall so we simply just wanted to go with the colours of the trees and leave and flowers.
What’s one thing you wish you would have known earlier in regards to planning?
Average Costs of anything for a wedding!
