Hey friends!
Let me tell you a little bit about the face behind the lens! My name is Megan McCormick and I am a proud Guelphite, born and raised here in this great city.
Photography has been my passion since I was a youngster taking photos of all my classmates since I was in grade 3. I knew this was my path from then and I stopped at nothing to make that happen. I started interning and assisting other professional photographers at the age of 14. I went to Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario for Applied Photography and I interned with professional photographer Steve Carty (who also took this photo of me!).
I started photographing weddings for friends on my own in 2008 and I realized I was meant for it. Between my love of meeting new people, learning about their lives, and capturing lifelong memories for them I couldn’t imagine ever doing anything else.
In 2012, I went full-time photographing weddings and within two years of that I was turning down so many weddings because I was already booked that I created a sub-division of McCormick Photography called Studio M2. Studio M2 is an opportunity for my clients to still get the full service of McCormick Photography and my associate would photograph their wedding so we are able to accommodate more than one client on the same day.
In 2016, I was nominated for Guelph’s Top Emerging Business after I opened my studio in downtown Guelph and I also received the Guelph’s 40-under-40 award the same year for my involvement in charitable work with the Canadian Cancer Society, Habitat For Humanity, and “Smiling Eyes” of the Ronald McDonald House.
I am a lover of life and love! My fiancé and I are currently in the midst of enjoying our engagement so I can truly understand the excitement around planning the big day. Xo
